Eat, Pray, Love: One Woman's Search for Everything Across Italy, India and Indonesia
by Elizabeth Gilbert
A friend loaned me a copy of Eat Pray Love at a surprise birthday party. I found the book to be one of the most enjoyable and insightful books I have read for some time. I enjoyed Elizabeth's humour, as well as the courage to share her experiences. And in its own subtle way, the book provides considerable insight into a range of spiritual practices and experiences in a way that does not seem preachy.
Many of the practices Elizabeth Gilbert describes in the book are hard, though I like the meditation she was first taught by an eccentric medicine man in Bali - 'sit and smile.' I can start doing that today!
